Throwing Snow is back on Mesh with another EP of genre mutations out Friday 3rd April.

A follow-up to his 2025 Jackals release, Canines journeys through tangled lineages without ever resting on a single reference. UK sounds pulse strongly throughout, but more than just a nod to any specific time or place, it’s ultimately an exploration of the outer frequencies and pressure points in contemporary electronic music.

Just as genres like dub, garage, and techno looked outwards to move forwards, Throwing Snow takes this and that from here and there, pulling threads and memories from moments in dance music and weaving them into new shapes.

‘Oddity’ opens up with razor sharp metallic edges grinding over a warehouse floor to a sunken 4-4 beat, like echoes of musique concrète over industrial techno. ‘K9’ is a hazy wall of future dub and 2-step where maxxed out synths levitate over shuffled drums and flickers of bass. ‘Yous’ takes the Volca Keys for a ride back to a moment of early 2010s fusion in electronic music, somewhere between a South London basement, a Detroit warehouse, and a coffee shop in Amsterdam. ‘Shepherdess’ lays down a pitch-bending floor of hammerdrill bass and lets it run riot through an abandoned building. Closing things off, ‘Smokescreen’ is a tech-steppy dose of dark liquid rolling steady at 166BPM.

Throwing Snow traces a crooked line to the core of his musical influences, bending clubworld folklore and half-remembered moments into something firmly in the now, playing loudly through the speakers.

‘Canines’ lands on Friday 3rd April via Mesh.
